In
essence what we wanted was a way of allowing our partners
to add details of themselves, their projects and relevant
features they produce so that our readers get an up to date
multi-media website.
Here
are the bare bone objectives of the Beyond TV On-line database.
Maintain
an On-line resource of alternative media features.
Our
first priority is to maintain details of Internet files,
i.e. Media features, video clips, audio clips, images, HTML
files and text files including press releases..
Once partners have uploaded details, users will be able
to view database generated pages containing such data as;
Media feature type, Subject category, details of the makers,
length of feature (words/minutes), links to associated partners/projects/events.

This needs to be done in a format that is easy to add to
and extract from, over the web. Internet users will be able
to search this database of contacts and partners. They'll
also be able to add appropriate groups to it.

of positive campaign, practical and media projects.
Visitors
to the site will be able to search these projects using
keywords and add positive projects to the database themselves.
At the end of the process partners will be able to point
users to a page on our site with all the relevant information
and links listed.

Maintain
our Mailing list.
When
people add themselves to our mailing list it is important
that they can select the type of information that they want
to receive. We receive mail outs and press release summaries
from different groups and send them to only the people that
are registered as being interested in these subjects. At
the bottom of each mail-out there is a URL link to a form
page. Here subscribers can change their settings, narrowing
or widening the scope of information they receive. They
can unsubscribe and re-subscribe as they please.
