Help Me ee :
Making Real Media Files -

There are a couple of popular ways of making real media files. you can do it strainght out of Premiere using the inbuilt system. Of you can save you project to a file and use Real Producer a standalone program. Or you can use a Frameserver to encode straight from Premiere to Real Producer without having to save you project as a file on your hard drive first.

Real Producer -

There are loads of different encoders and producers made by Real Networks -
You can download there latest FREE one by clicking here - But see if you can get hold of copy of a Producer Plus version - that has some better options that are mentioned in our documentation.

If you can't get hold of the Producer Plus and you have Premiere. Then you are probably better off Encoding files into real media straight from Premiere. You'll need version 6 or above to do this. Consult the help files in premiere to do this.

But if you can get hold of a Producer Plus then we would reccomend creating your Real Media Files using a frame server like avi synth. You follow exactly the same proceedure as you do for making Mpeg or DivX files from premiere Documentation -

Real Network's Documentation -

Just about all you need is contained in a small enough bundle on the Real Networks site.

What we really think of Real Media< /i>

< i> The major advantage of real media is that that loads of people [215 million registered] have it installed on their computers so random browsers of your Internet site are likely to be able to view it. You can click it and be viewing it immediately, which is nice. The file sizes are really quite small which helps if you haven't got thousands of dollars for special server space.

The disadvantages are that it involves installing a program on your computer which messes with your file settings and registry, hogs your system's resources unnecessarily and spies on you when you browse the Internet sending information on what your are doing back to Real central! [Not that you should really worry about such things - but still it's a bit of a cheek].

Mind you a lot of this has been overcome now that you can use Media Player Classic as a Player. download it here
