How to create DivX files

keep awakeDivX:
Read the website and download the latest divx codec - you'll also need an mp3 codec too.

Make sure you know who to frameserver from premiere. help here

Open your signpost file in the program Virtual Dub and go through the following steps.

Select Video > Compression

Then Select the Divx Codec you have installed and click Configure

Just go for a one pass encoding - when you get the hang of it look on the internet to do a "2-pass Encoding" here's a google search on it.

Experiment with the slider to work out the trade off between File Size [kps] and the Quality of picture you end up with.

You need to add a filter to deinterlace the file.

Select Video >Filters

and Click ADD

Select Deinterlace

and the Blend fields option.

Now for the Audio.

With the Audio menu - you first have to select Full Processing Mode or nothing will happen.

Then Click on Audio > Compression

Then select your mp3 codec and choose the level of compression you want. if it's Voice only you can probably get away with a lower k/ps rate than the one below, and have it in mono as well. But i've done this one as it's going on a CDrom so there's no reason to compress it too much.

Then Click on File > Save as Avi

and it'll do it's evil work!
